Sometimes an ordinary home isn't what our clients envision - and this Tauranga home designed by Six Squares shows what we can do when the clients direction is to be different and we are given freedom to set aside conventional architectural rules.  The modern design is full of surprises: metallic boxes extend at bold angles to ensure privacy from neighbours, while also drawing your eye out at just the right angle to capture views of the harbour.  Bold black cladding with vertical shadow lines provides a backdrop for the metal highlights to shimmer. Windows at varying heights frame unique perspectives.  Cantilevers and recessed volumes sculpt the exterior, casting bold shadows and carving distinctive lines. Creative details continue with mahogany timber wrapping seamlessly around the interiors of the boxes, enhancing the dynamic architectural forms. 

The steep, tightly sloped site posed its challenges, but with cunning design the home was nestled gracefully into the hill. It nos is shimmering proudly among its neighbours.
